01 What can operational AI help with?
AI and the OMS B.U.R.T assistant help users find order and inventory information, explain exceptions, and prepare recommendations. Supported WMS workflows can also prepare inbound, outbound, or adjustment drafts. Availability depends on the module, version, permissions, and agreed configuration.
| Task | Useful output | User check |
|---|---|---|
| Order lookup | Current status and related records | Verify the order number, customer, warehouse, and update time. |
| Inventory diagnosis | Reservation, lot, location, or hold clues | Compare with the actual stock and release records. |
| Exception review | Possible causes and suggested checks | Establish the cause from logs and business records. |
| Draft preparation | Proposed fields and missing-data prompts | Review quantities, SKUs, locations, recipients, and financial effects before submission. |
02 What if AI makes a mistake?
AI can misinterpret a question or summarize incomplete information. Use system records as the basis for action. If an answer conflicts with the page, check scope, identifiers, date range, and sync status; report an unresolved discrepancy to support with a sanitized reference.
Permission checks, validation, human confirmation, approvals, and audit records govern supported write actions. Agree which actions may only be recommended, which may produce drafts, and which need a designated approver. An AI response itself is not an approval.
03 Does AI replace employees?
AI assistance can reduce repeated lookup and preparation so the team can spend more time on customer service, physical execution, and exceptions. People still judge business context, confirm goods and quantities, and approve sensitive changes. Staffing decisions and productivity gains depend on the actual operating model.
04 How do we evaluate useful AI?
Select one recurring task, such as diagnosing a blocked order. Use the same representative cases before and during a pilot, and measure time to a verified answer, correctness, escalation rate, and reviewer effort. Include an incorrect or incomplete input to test the controls. This method also applies when evaluating AI offered by other vendors.
05 Current assistance and future directions
The current product story centers on lookup, diagnosis, recommendations, drafts, and approval controls. Sales forecasting, inventory optimization, predictive profit analysis, and supply-chain risk prediction are development directions. They should not be treated as universally delivered capabilities or as a committed delivery date.
